Real & Synthetic Stone Veneer
Stone veneer is where a house stops looking like every other house on the street. We work in real natural stone and quality manufactured stone, and we obsess over the details that separate good stonework from great.
We've done full real-stone veneer on a custom home in spring 2023, full synthetic stone facade on another in early 2023, and a custom fireplace on a Lake Norman property that's one of the projects we're proudest of. Different jobs, different materials, same standard.
Whether it's natural or manufactured stone matters less than how it's set. We pay attention to mortar lines, color flow across the wall, joint depth, and how the pattern reads from across the yard versus up close. A stone wall is a 30-year decision — we treat it that way.

What's the difference between real and synthetic stone veneer?
Real stone is heavier, ages naturally, costs more, and takes longer to install — but it's authentic and lasts indefinitely. Synthetic (manufactured) stone is lighter, less expensive, easier to install on a wider range of substrates, and modern versions look nearly indistinguishable from real stone at curb distance. Both have their place. We'll help you pick what fits your project and budget.
Can you do stone veneer on an existing house?
Yes — stone veneer is one of the highest-impact renovations you can do to an existing home's exterior. We assess the substrate, prep accordingly, and install over weather-resistive barrier and lath. The result transforms how the house reads from the street.
Do you build custom fireplaces?
Yes. We've built custom indoor and outdoor stone fireplaces, including a lakeside Lake Norman property that's one of our favorite projects. Stone, brick, or a combination — we work with your designer or yours and ours from a sketch.
Can you do interior stone work?
Yes. Stone overlays on monolithic slab floors, accent walls, fireplace surrounds, and interior feature walls. We did a full interior stone overlay in March 2024.
