Foundations
Foundations, Footings & Crawl Spaces
The part of the house nobody sees and everyone depends on. We build foundations the way they're supposed to be built — proper rebar, proper depth, proper time.
A foundation is not the place to cut corners. We've poured footings with full rebar cages for an apartment complex in Charlotte where the load demanded it, and we've poured residential footings where homeowners wanted the same care given to their single-family home. The standard doesn't change — what changes is the scale.
We dig to the right depth, set the rebar to the right schedule, vibrate the pour to eliminate voids, and let it cure on the right schedule for the weather. That last part matters in Carolina summers and winters more than people realize — concrete that cures too fast in heat or freezes mid-cure in winter loses strength permanently.
Block and CMU foundation walls are a core part of what we do — laid plumb and level, reinforced with rebar and grout where the design calls for it, and tied properly to the footing below. Whether it's a crawl space stem wall or a full foundation wall, the structure has to be right before anything gets built on top of it.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked
Do you do foundations for new construction?
Yes — full foundation packages including footings, CMU or poured walls, and slabs. We coordinate with your GC, framer, and inspector so the timing works.
Can you do commercial-scale foundation work?
Yes. We've poured footings and built CMU foundations for an apartment complex in Charlotte with heavy rebar requirements. We have the crew and equipment for larger jobs.
What's the difference between CMU and poured concrete foundations?
CMU (concrete block) foundations are built up block by block and reinforced with rebar and grout in the cores. Poured concrete walls are formed and poured as a single mass. Both are strong when done right; the choice often comes down to budget, schedule, and what's typical in your area. We do both and can recommend what's right for your project.
Do you handle excavation and grading for footings?
We can coordinate the dig and grading as part of the job, or work alongside the GC's grading crew — whatever the project calls for. Either way, we make sure the footing is dug to the right depth and the base is right before we pour.
